Foreword by Javier Gonzales
Traveler extraordinaire Michael Clinton turns his discerning eye to those special details that determine and define a sense of place in The Snap Series, his series that focuses the lens on some of the world’s most beautiful scenery. Clinton’s evocative images invite us to contemplate the beauty of the particular, to focus on the small-yet-telling moments that comprise the unique appeal of a special place.
In the second installment of The Snap Series, following his successful The Hamptons, Clinton travels to historical Santa Fe, New Mexico, and captures the essence of what makes this city one of the most prominent and largest centers for arts, sports, nature, and culture in the world. Venture into the city’s rich past and multicultural character—from the vibrant street art lurking around every corner and rich textures beaming from adobe walls that date back several thousand years, to the handcrafted pottery, textiles, and jewelry representing more than one hundred Native American tribes at the icon Indian Market.
Along with picturesque views of the enchanting Kasha Katuwe Tent Rocks and the crisp yellow leaves of the aspens flowing in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, these intimate snapshots reveal the rustic sophistication and fascinating ambiance of the city often known as “The City Different”—because it is. Complete with a welcoming foreword from Santa Fe’s forty-second mayor Javier Gonzales and packed with 270 dazzling original photographs, this book will capture the fancy of anyone who loves Santa Fe, art, photography, history, and travel.
