With the publication of Stage Set, readers are invited to witness designer Geoffrey Bradfield’s evolution from his youth in South Africa to becoming a world-class luminary in New York City, and all the steps in-between. His work is sumptuous yet exquisitely refined and, above all, comfortable—despite the striking presence of priceless artworks and antiques.

In this unique exploration of how lifestyle affects personal design, Bradfield offers his view of 50 years of creative genius and innovation. Bradfield’s homes have always been his creative litmus tests. Explaining how his design style has been influenced by his life, and vice versa, is bound to intrigue every lover of design and culture—where his personal environments function as metaphor and inspiration for a life well-lived.
